There's not many things around that are sort of FATBike specific. Well okay, the bold stuff of course – tires, rims, hubs, cranks.
But most of the stuff we screw on our bikes is taken from mountain bike shelf at your local dealer. This may have some disadvantages, of course, as mountain bikes and FATBikes are used under different conditions.
But every now and then smart engineers think of FATBike needs and build something … smart!

This time it was our friends at Easton Cycling who just came out with a brand new thing: the Haven Dropper Post. You now may tend to say „Dropper post? Damn new thing, man – 10 years ago!“. But wait! This black beauty drops even when it's freaking cold! Easton promises that even temperatures as low as -30°C (which seriously is 65°C less than at the moment!) will not stop the smooth move of this post! As Snoop says: Drop it like it's hot!
Thanks to a newly developed locking mechanism and some highly refined seals the system allows usage of lower air pressure and reliability could be vastly, Easton says. Folks, not that we are waiting for the winter… But we will definitely find out whether this thing works!

The new Haven Dropper Post weighs in at 495gr. (30.9mm x 440mm, 150mm travel) and will be available in 4 lengths from 350mm to 440mm. It will fit the most frequently used diameters of 30.9 and 31.6. And you can even choose the Haven Dropper Post travel from a range of 100, 125 or 150mm – all with infinite adjustment. It's made from Eastons EA90 aluminum and will be available only in black with zero offset. Also there will be a „Quick Connector“ that allows easy removal of the (internally routed) release cable without losing any setting. So you can easily swap the post from one bike to another.

Boy, this thing is so brand don't even have own pictures, yet! But for all of you who can't wait for winter or want to spend their summer holiday in far, far, far North this is your seat post! Again the Haven Dropper Post is not really FATBike specific but it's definitely intended to be used on one. Even in worst and coldest winter – with the Easton Haven Dropper Post you can drop it like it's hot!
